Privacy Policy

TownTapestry (“we”, “us”) helps neighbors share local information about their town. This policy explains what we collect and how we use it. This is a starting draft and may change.

Information we collect

Sign in with Google

If you choose “Continue with Google,” Google shares your name, email address, and whether that email is verified, based on the permissions you approve. We never receive your Google password. Google’s handling of your information is governed by Google’s own privacy policy.

How we use information

Cookies & analytics

We use a single sign-in (session) cookie to keep you logged in, and your theme preference may be stored locally in your browser. We use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used; it sets its own cookies and collects aggregate usage data (subject to Google’s privacy policy). We do not use third-party advertising cookies.

How information is shared

We do not sell your personal information. Content you post is visible to others in your town. We rely on service providers (such as our hosting and email provider) to operate the service, and we may disclose information if required by law.

Retention and your choices

We keep your account and content while your account is active. You may request access to or deletion of your account by contacting us at [[email protected]]. Some records may be retained as required for security or legal reasons.

Children

TownTapestry is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.

Changes

We may update this policy from time to time; material changes will be posted here with a new “last updated” date.
